Our Highlights from the 10th Year of the biggest UK dance event
Marketing for dance is a big challenge as the average dance business competes with many others including music classes, gymnastics and a variety of other genres within the dance industry.
It is a crowded market, as was MOVE IT 2016!
At Consider This, we have been working in the Arts and Entertainment sector, with dance organisations ranging from school to awarding bodies, for over 15 years. We often draw tips, advice and recommendations from direct work experience to share with our clients. Our goal is to help merge dance talent with our knowledge of marketing, and there’s no better place to have the chance to speak to so many people who are pasionate about the industry as we are than MOVE IT, The UK's biggest dance event.
For this reason, we returned to MOVE IT in 2016 for the 10th consecutive year, this year as sponsors of the Council of Dance Education Training (CDET) hub. As well as being proud sponsors, we thoroughly enjoyed exhibiting at the new venue – Excel London between 18 – 20th March. What a weekend!
It was great to catch up with many of our clients who were also exhibiting and performing on stage, as well as meeting new companies, teachers, instructors and aspiring performers.
Over the weekend our director Paul Taylor presented our bespoke app service: an Android and iOS device based app that is a versatile digital tool relevant to many industries including dance schools. The app gives schools / companies the ability to engage directly with their target audience. It is also a great tool for referrals and retention of students as well as for recruitment of new ones. Find out more about our app here.
Caroline Miller from Dance UK
Some highlights from the weekend include all the incredible talent on the main stage this year, including Flawless, Darcey Bussell, BalletBoyz and many more.
MOVE IT heralded the official launch of bbodance new branding, a project we’ve been working on with them for last year. We were really excited to see the final work and everyone’s positive reaction of it.
Paul and Michael want to send their very best wishes to Caroline Miller, after 10 years at the helm of Dance UK, everyone at Consider This wishes you the very best for the future!
